On December 12, 2023, the Guangdong Provincial Mechanical Engineering Society organized and hosted a technology achievement appraisal meeting in Guangzhou for the project “Key Technologies and Industrialization of Personalized Custom Dental Prostheses via Laser Additive Manufacturing”, jointly completed by Guangzhou Riton Additive Technology Co., Ltd. and South China Normal University.
Professor Liu Yihua, Executive Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Guangdong Provincial Mechanical Engineering Society, chaired the meeting and provided a summary.
Founded in 1997, Riton is a high-tech enterprise focused on digital orthodontics, 3D printing, and innovative medical services, integrating independent R&D, production, and sales.
Riton is one of the earliest companies in China to apply metal 3D printing technology to the dental industry. Over more than 20 years of development, Riton's metal 3D printing technology has reached an industry-leading position, having passed certifications such as ISO9000 in China, CE and ROHS in the EU, and FCC and IC in North America. Riton has also been awarded the second prize for technological progress in Guangdong Province and is recognized as a high-tech enterprise and one of the standard-setting units for the dental 3D printing industry in Guangdong.
Digitalization and intelligence are the future development trends of the denture manufacturing industry. As a manufacturing technology with significant digital characteristics, 3D printing is a crucial part of the dental digital processing chain. Riton will continue to maintain its expertise in denture 3D printing technology and strive towards becoming a “full-stack operator of dental digital solutions.”
The project team reported on the project development status.
The project has innovatively developed key technologies such as intelligent dual-circulation oxygen content precision control, energy compensation forming control, and high-efficiency printing control systems. The core components have achieved full localization, offering advantages such as high production efficiency, good stability, high forming quality, and low equipment costs compared to similar products at home and abroad.
During the project implementation, four invention patents were authorized, six software copyrights were registered, and eight utility model patents were obtained. The project boasts independent intellectual property rights and strong innovation, with a domestic market share exceeding 50% and exports to over 50 countries and regions, achieving significant economic and social benefits.
The appraisal committee concluded that the overall technology of the project has reached an international advanced level and agreed to pass the technology achievement appraisal.
